System Administrator
Overview of the Position
Reporting to the Head of Technology, the IT System Administrator plays an essential role in the implementation, maintenance and continuous improvement of the IT systems used by the company to deliver services and support the daily work of all company employees. The selected candidate will maintain and work on continually improve the on-premise and cloud infrastructure used to provide our services. The person will work to maintain a high level of IT security, ensuring that the compute, data storage and backup servers are operational at all times, and that the computer park is up to date. This person will also collaborate in the maintenance and compliance management of the company’s infrastructure.
Responsibilities:
- CPU and GPU cluster administration (Linux/SLURM);
- Network (pfSense/Ubiquiti/Dell) and VPN (OpenVPN, OpnSense, IPSEC) administration;
- Management of the Kubernetes on-prem et cloud (AWS) environment;
- PACS systems administration;
- Network Attached Storage (NAS: CephFS/SMB3) and backup systems (BackBlaze B2) administration;
- Interact with the company’s clients to configure connections and system integrations;
- Involvement in the release and transfer to production of the company’s products and systems;
- Services and user accounts administration, using Kubernetes, Docker, KVM and Metal configurations
- Provisioning system (MaaS)
- Virtual machines management (ProxMox)
- Code source management (Gitlab)
- Compilation and testing Infrastructure (Gitlab CICD)
- Cybersecurity (Vault, OpenVas, …)
- Active Directory (Zentyal)
- Configuration Management (Ansible, Puppet)
- System monitoring (Prometheus);
- Investigate and evaluate new technologies for continuous improvements of the existing infrastructures and their security;
- Maintain the IT processes in the context of a Quality Management System (QMS);
- Level 1 and 2 user support (occasional);
- Hardware and software purchases;
- Prepare and supervise security audits;
Skills:
- 3 or more years of Linux system administration, in a company similar to Imeka;
- College or Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, or equivalent experience;
- Advanced knowledge of Linux/BSD;
- Desire to work in a team and to help employees from all departments;
- Excellent organizational skills, initiative, autonomy and interpersonal skills;
- Great adaptability and flexibility, desire to contribute to the company’s growth;
- Language: French/English spoken and written at a professional level (all our customers are currently in the USA and Europe);
- Knowledge of Windows;
- Good cybersecurity and network administration skills;
- Interest and experience in project management is an asset;
- Knowledge of AWS administration is an asset;
- Knowledge of Kubernetes deployment and administration is an asset;
- Knowledge of PACS systems management is an asset;
- Familiar with networking concepts (VLAN, firewall, subnet, routing, VPN, etc.).
